Be careful you don't get rolled for your Reeboks

Spotted along Brunswick St late last Friday, we totally know how these guys felt when they woke up.

Sometimes when travelling overseas, you open your suitcase and you get overwhelmed by all the Hawaiian shirts and basketball shorts that you end up channelling all the sexiest style food groups.

We too have been known to leave the house carrying Lance Armstrong’s water bottle, wearing some Yankee sailor’s shorts, Elvis Presley's Aloha shirt, our Japanese tourist camera seductively slung over one shoulder (or is that a shoulder strapped coin purse?) and pose like Lindsay Lohan when people take our photo.

But then again, maybe they’re locals. Brunswick is a big street and you’re gonna need to be prepared for the long walk between your room at the boarding house project association and The Shamrock.

Anonymous – This is hard because I hate having to explain the concept of GhettoBrizbayne to people who just don’t seem to have any sense of irony. It’s like explaining why jokes are funny to those who don’t have a sense of humour. No matter how slowly you tell them the punch line they’re never going to understand and you might as well leave them out of the conversation.

However, since you’re so emphatically making a fool out of yourself I’ll try and fill you in as best I can…GhettoBrizbayne attempts to sarcastically look at Brisbane’s white, middle-class responses to everything that is socially above and below them. It is supposed to be either male or female although the ‘character’ writing the blog is definitely not a nice person. Possibly even a jerk – but come on – did you READ that piece about the Courier Mail? That shit wrote itself!

Actually, I find the fact you got all annoyed about it excellent. At least you’re angry enough to give a damn.

Now, thank you for your feedback. See you at the next soup kitchen meeting.

Feel free to email me at nylonwhite@hotmail.com if you want to discuss Socratic irony in more depth.

Well im definately quite honoured that the dust was blown off the thesaurus for that rebuttal.
And you are right I did "emphatically" make a fool out of myself..because just to make a plain run of the mill garden variety fool out of myself would have been rather banal of me wouldn't it ..so kudos for picking up on that.

And socratic irony? Well done, but I do believe the ignorance in this one might have been lost between the sheets if you get what I'm saying?

Some times ignorance can be lost in the eye of the idiot.
But I definately look foward to your next post on society through your cultured eyes!
take it easy mate

We're sorry to hear that you had to consult a thesaurus to know what emphatically meant but we're very glad you'll be returning. We look forward to hearing from your hilariously misfigured perception of GhettoBrizbayne and re-checking all your spelling and grammatical errors.

Seriously, people who leave ridiculous comments on people's blogs to object to the opinions and judgements of the writer and post their moral stand need to get a life!

Why visit a website or blog that is OBVIOUSLY not alligned with a subject matter of your taste, it's people like you Anonymous who prevent the rest of us from enjoying things such as being sarcastic & taking the piss out of things that ARE funny!

A sense of humour is a GREAT thing to have, because it allows you to enjoy such hilarious things as the blogs on this website!
